Nokia has been working on symbian platform for a long time now. When symbian was introduced TEN years back, Nokia, Sony ericsson, Motorola and Psion were the other partners for development of symbian. Now, Nokia feels the need to buy other shares of symbain.

Symbian has been the worlds most used operating system for mobile devices for a long time. Nokia has been using Symbian platform for its s60 phones for a decade now.

Motorola and Sony Ericsson have signed up to contribute UIQ assets, while NTT DoCoMo (which uses Symbian-based wares in a number of its phones) will be donating code as well.

Symbian grows 10

Its the time for celebration. Symbian celebrates TENTH anniversary this month :D

Symbain was born as a software by Psion’s, which later turned out to be our very own Symbian. Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola and Psion were the original share holders of Symbian. It has then made a history.

The initial 150 employers worked out of the affectionately remembered ’sweetshop’ building, an unassuming block located in Harcourt Street, London.
