Nokia implements new features for S60 on Symbian OS. S60 will introduce new features that enhance the user experience on S60 devices, and allow manufacturers, developers and carriers to design new types of mobile devices and applications and services.

S60 touch user interface comes with support for tactile feedback, which means that there is a physical pulse and feedback when the user taps on the screen. This provides better awareness of the device’s response.

These technologies will be available to all manufacturers in 2008.

After the announcement of 3g iPhone 2.0 for an lesser price than previous version , Mobile companies are now aware of the fact that Touch screen is the future.

Although the Senior Vice President of Nokia Markets Anssi Vanjoki thinks that the market for touch screen market is niche, Nokia intends to bring touch screen FACILITY into lower end phones to mid range phones to hinh end phones.

Inspite of drastic drop in price in iphone, its still kind of out_of_reach for normal people. If Nokia successfully implements what it has planned to, it will generate a lot of market compitition.
